The cottages sit round the perimeter of an enclosed 0.5 acre grounds with antique farm vehicle feature, orchard and lawn amidst pasture land affording plenty of space for tranquil relaxation, yet within 15 miles of both the beautiful city of Chester and Liverpool, vibrant city of culture. Contrasting cities, they offer a huge range of year round attractions: Liverpool’s Albert Dock is a UNESCO World Heritage site, home to the Tate Liverpool art gallery, the International World Slavery Museum among many and the Beatles Story. Chester boasts Roman city walls, lovely riverside terraces, designer shopping and a world famous zoo. Sandy beaches lie 6 miles away at West Kirby, also site of a marine lake for windsurfing and the Wirral Country Park provides miles of scenic walking and cycling, whilst further afield, Snowdonia and the Lake District make great day trips. Parkgate (1 mile) offers restaurants, café, three pubs, a general store and superb ice cream

Reviews
The cottage we stayed in was furnished to a high standard, was very clean and the owners had put in lovely finishing touches. Towels had been folded and presented attractively and there were gorgeous fresh chocolate Muffins. We made trips to Chester Liverpool and Manchester and found it a really good base to set off from.

The property is very well laid out with plenty of space, excellent facilities, well decorated and very comfortable. The location is an excellent base to explore both North Wales and Cheshire with plenty of attractions, beaches etc in easy reach there is no risk of running out of things to do. Visting Liverpool by train from Bebbington is very good value. Whilst Chester Zoo is worth spending all day at.

Cheshire is a surprisingly rural county, ideal for an escape to the countryside, as you’ll discover on a break in one of our holiday cottages in Cheshire. There’s plenty of good walking in the Delamere Forest and across the Cheshire plain. The historic city of Chester also makes a great day out. It was founded by the Romans who were the original architects of the city walls that still surround the cathedral on two sides. Don’t miss the Roman Amphitheatre nor the ornate Chester Rows, an unusual series of buildings with shops on two levels – perhaps the first shopping mall in England!
Our holiday cottages in Cheshire are also within easy reach of the golden triangle, the affluent area around Alderley Edge, Knutsford, Wlmslow and Prestbury. A favourite with footballers, there are some excellent restaurants in the vicinity. For something completely different, visit Quarry Bank Mill in Styal, an old cotton mill, now transformed into a living museum of the old cotton industry. Meanwhile, railway enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to Crewe, once the centre of the British Railway industry. And don’t forget, you’re also an easy drive from Liverpool, European Capital of Culture for 2008.
